Thursday 31 January - Alston Moor Film presents.... Cold War
Paweł Pawlikowski follows his Oscar-winning Ida by winning Best Director at Cannes 2018, with the stunning 'Cold War', an epic romance set against the backdrop of Europe after World War II. Shot in luminous black and white, it's a wistful and dreamlike journey through a divided continent - and a heartbreaking portrait of ill-fated love.
Alston Town Hall, doors open @ 7.00pm, film starts @ 7.30pm. Running time: 90 minutes, £5 adults £3 under 16s Certificate 15. Cabaret seating - Licensed bar soft drinks - Free bar snacks.

The monthly council meeting is open to all, 7pm at Samuel King's School.
Thursday 21 February - Next Trip to Carlisle
Community Wheels Minibus trips to Carlisle - Thursdays in school holidays. Depart Nenthead 9.30am, Alston 9.40am. Coming back from Carlisle approx 2.30pm. £5 - must join and prebook at Local Links, Alston Town Hall.
Saturday 9 March - Ultimate Dance Night
V-2 Ultimate Dance charity event in aid of the air ambulance. Featuring Deekay (RESPEKT EVENTZ), DJ Pulse (RESPEKT EVENTZ), plus Resident DJs. Tickets £10 onsale on skiddle.com, and will be available from outlets in Alston.

Volunteer Opportunity - Alston Hospital
Alston Hospital is looking for volunteers to be Meal Time Assistants, and/or Befrienders. Befrienders visit patients who don't have any visitors, and chat to them. Contact Karen Hogg on 01228 602126 or by email for more information.
